Combining ability of superior cacao clones for assembling high productivity and disease resistant cocoa

This research aimed to determine the potentiality of P1 and P2 as parents produce superior strains hybrid cacao by estimating general combining ability (GCA) specific from crossed diallel among high yielding which are resistant P. palmivora . The study was conducted at Experimental Farm Sumber Asin, Malang, East Java, 2010 2018. arranged in Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisted 10 hybrids 5 so that treatment used 15 genotypes. Each 12 plants triplicates. Resistance test on F1 showed all combination were infected pod rot disease ( ) with various intensity. highest intensity a strain DR 1 x ICS 13 lowest one SCa 6. All field had not shown symptoms any pest infection. Cacao clones have low GCA value based TSH 858, ICCRI 3 These potential be assembly disease-resistant high-yielding cocoa future.
